JENIN, Palestine (AA) – Three Palestinians were killed in an Israeli drone strike in the West Bank city of Jenin on Wednesday, according to the official news agency Wafa.

The strike targeted a vehicle on the outskirts of the Jenin refugee camp, Wafa said.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society confirmed that its medics had transferred three corpses to the Jenin hospital.

There was no immediate Israeli comment on the report.

Tensions have been running high across the occupied West Bank since Israel launched a deadly military offensive against the Gaza Strip following an Oct. 7 Hamas attack, which killed some 1,200 people.

Nearly 140 Palestinians have since been killed and more than 4,700 others injured in the occupied territory, according to Palestinian figures.

Israel is accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which in January issued an interim ruling ordering Tel Aviv to ensure its forces do not commit acts of genocide, and guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza, where nearly 32,000 people have been killed.
