BOGOTA, Colombia (AA) – A total of 300 suspects were detained in an operation targeting a criminal organization in Peru.
A large-scale operation against an international criminal organization was carried out nationwide, according to a statement from the Peruvian National Police.
It indicated that 300 suspects were detained and the criminal organization was involved in robbery, kidnapping and extortion.
Highlighting an "unprecedented" operation in the country's history, the statement emphasized the dismantling of a significant criminal network.
A separate statement from the prosecutor's office announced that among those detained were leaders of the gang, and it was declared that the scope of the investigation would be expanded.
