ANKARA (AA) – At least five people, including four suspected members of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), were held by Turkish border guards as they tried to illegally cross to Greece, the National Defense Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
The ministry added that it remains firm to prevent illegal crossings on the county’s borders.
FETO orchestrated the July 15, 2016 defeated coup in Türkiye in which 251 people were killed and 2,734 injured.
Ankara accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions; particularly the military, police and judiciary.
