JERUSALEM / BEIRUT (AA) – Four people were injured on Tuesday in an exchange of cross-border attacks between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah.
An Israeli fighter jet carried out an airstrike in the town of Khiyam in southern Lebanon, injuring two people, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.
The state-run media reported other Israeli airstrikes in the towns of Bani Hayan and Aita as-Shaab, but no information was yet available about injuries.
Meanwhile, five rockets were launched from Lebanon towards the illegal settlement of Kiryat Shmona in northern Israel, causing damage to several buildings, the Israeli Channel 12 reported.
Israeli Channel 14 said two people were injured in Dishon town in a rocket barrage from Lebanon.
Hezbollah confirmed that its fighters struck with Katyusha rockets the Israeli army's command headquarters of the Al-Sahl Battalion in Beit Hilel area, and artillery bunkers in Dishon.
Tensions have spiked along Lebanon's border with Israel amid cross-border attacks between Hezbollah and Israeli forces as Tel Aviv pressed ahead with its brutal onslaught on the Gaza Strip, which has killed over 40,800 people since last Oct. 7 following an attack by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas.
