LONDON (AA) - Four migrants have died while attempting to cross the English Channel from France to the UK, according to French media on Friday.
The French coastguard confirmed the fatalities after a boat carrying the migrants capsized during the perilous journey.
According to the French newspaper La Voix Du Nord and broadcaster BFM TV, the incident occurred as a group of migrants attempted to navigate the treacherous waters in a bid to reach the UK.
The French coastguard, responding to the emergency, managed to rescue 63 migrants, but four found unconscious could not be saved.
Despite increased patrols and cooperation between French and British authorities, many migrants continue to make the perilous journey in search of a better life.
