DAMASCUS (AA) - At least four Syrian soldiers were injured late Thursday following an Israeli airstrike targeting several military sites in central Syria, according to the Syrian state news agency SANA.
The agency, citing an unnamed military source, reported that “at approximately 20.55 local time (1755GMT), the Israeli enemy launched an aerial attack from northern Lebanon, targeting several military positions in the central region.”
The source added that the attack “resulted in four soldiers being injured and caused some material damage,” without providing further details.
Israel has not issued a statement on the airstrike.
The Israeli military has periodically conducted strikes on Iran-backed groups and Syrian military positions since the onset of Syria's civil war in 2011.
