ISTANBUL (AA) – Five people lost their lives after a private jet crashed in the US state of Virginia on Monday.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, a private jet, the IAI Astra 1125, equipped with twin engines, went down close to Ingalls Field Airport in Hot Springs, Virginia, at approximately 3 p.m. (1900GMT), CNN reported.
“At this time, it appears there were four adults and one juvenile onboard the aircraft. All five, which includes the pilot, died at the scene,” said Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller.
The Federal Aviation Administration announced it will conduct a joint investigation with the National Transportation Safety Board regarding the accident.
