JERUSALEM (AA) – At least five Israeli soldiers were injured when a mortar shell landed near the Israeli town of Nirim near the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army radio said on Friday.
These are the first injuries among the Israeli soldiers since they resumed attacks on Gaza on Friday morning.
Sirens sounded in many Israeli towns surrounding the Gaza Strip for the first time in seven days.
Israel early Friday resumed its military operations against the Gaza Strip after the end of the humanitarian pause, targeting various areas.
At least 32 Palestinians were killed and several others injured as Israel resumed striking various areas in the Gaza Strip, the Health Ministry in Gaza said.
The pause between Israel and Hamas, which went into effect on Nov. 24, ended on Friday morning.
