RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - Five Palestinians were killed in an Israeli drone attack in the West Bank city of Nablus early Saturday, the Palestinian state news agency, WAFA reported.
The strike targeted the headquarters of the Palestinian group, Fatah, in the Balata refugee camp east of Nablus, it said.
Massive damage was reported in the area following the attack.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said earlier that seven victims were seriously injured in the attack and five later died at the hospital.
Tensions have been running high across the West Bank amid an Israeli military onslaught on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
More than 200 Palestinians have since been killed and over 2,700 injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied territory, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
