ISTANBUL (AA) - At least nine people, including five women, were killed in a mine explosion in Afghanistan.
The explosion was reported in Giro district of southeastern Ghazni city on Sunday, Kabul-based Tolo News reported.
Local authorities said the explosive material was “left over from the time of the Soviet Union's invasion.”
Afghanistan has battled foreign powers for nearly four decades, including the then-Soviet Union and the US, until August 2021.
