ISTANBUL (AA) - There are 50 days until the start of the 2024 European Football Championship (EURO 2024) in Germany.
The competition, which will be held in Berlin, Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Dortmund, Leipzig, Gelsenkirchen, Stuttgart and Dusseldorf from June 14 - July 14, will kick off with a match between Germany and Scotland at Allianz Arena in Munich.
Twenty-four teams will compete in six groups of four teams each. The top two teams in each group and the best four third-placed teams will advance to the round of 16.
Group matches will end June 26, while the last 16 round stage will start June 29.
The quarterfinals will be played July 5 - 6 and the semifinals July 9 – 10. The champion will be crowned July 14 in the final match at Olympiastadion in Berlin.

Türkiye will play in Group F.
The Crescent Stars will first play Georgia on June 18 in Dortmund before facing Portugal on June 22 in Dortmund and the Czech Republic on June 26 in Hamburg.
The European Championship, which has been held every four years since 1960, is the top-tier association football tournament organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
Italy was the last champions of the European Football Championship after beating England 3 - 2 on penalties, in a match that ended 1 - 1 in normal time and extra time. It was the second championship for the Italians in the tournament after 53 years.
