IDLIB (AA) - Six people, mostly children, were killed and several others injured when a bus carrying schoolchildren fell into a river in Syria's northwestern Idlib province, according to initial reports on Thursday.
Ambulances and Civil Defense (White Helmets) teams were dispatched to the scene after the school bus fell into the Asi River near the village of Uyunara, west of Idlib.
According to Civil Defense sources, the initial reports indicate that six civilians, mostly children, lost their lives, and many children were injured in the accident.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing, and the injured have been taken to nearby hospitals, according to reports.
