ISTANBUL (AA) – At least six people were killed and seven others injured on Thursday after a helicopter crashed in the Russian Republic of Altai.
“In the village of Tyungur, Ust-Koksinsky District, an aircraft crashed and caught fire while landing. According to the preliminary information, the helicopter touched electrical wires. The information is being specified,” a statement by Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry said on Telegram.
The statement said that 13 people were on board the private Mi-8 helicopter, of whom six were killed, according to preliminary data.
A later statement by the ministry said the fire was extinguished.
