Seven children were injured Wednesday in a car accident in western France, according to media reports.
The 83-year-old driver hit a cyclist group of 12 children and two adults supervising them, broadcaster France Bleu said.
The prosecutor of Rochelle reportedly announced that seven children were severely injured, and the one in the gravest condition was transferred to the nearby city of Poitiers by helicopter.
The children were aged 7-11 and members of a recreation center.
The driver was first placed into custody but then released due to her medical condition.
