ABUJA, Nigeria (AA) - At least seven people were killed late Thursday when a fuel tanker exploded after colliding with a minibus in Nigeria’s southwestern state of Ogun.
The driver of the tanker lost control of the steering wheel on the Ajilete-Idiroko highway and slammed into the minibus, according to local media.
The tanker immediately burst into flames and six passengers in the minibus and the tanker driver were killed.
Authorities said the injured were taken to a hospital.
The accident is believed to have been caused by the tanker driver speeding.
