GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) – Some 73 Palestinians were killed and 123 others injured in Israeli attacks on central Gaza Strip over the past day, the Gaza-based Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
"73 martyrs and 123 others injured are the total casualties that arrived in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital (near Deir al-Balah city) over the past 24 hours," the ministry said in a statement.
Earlier, the Palestinian official news agency Wafa reported that 19 Palestinians were killed on Wednesday dawn in Israeli airstrikes on the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza Strip.
Wafa reported that the Israeli army also fired white phosphorus and smoke bombs on the camp which has experienced a series of Israeli airstrikes.
Israel resumed its military offensive on the Palestinian territory on Dec. 1 after the end of a weeklong humanitarian pause with the Palestinian group Hamas.
At least 16,248 Palestinians have been killed and more than 43,616 others injured in relentless air and ground attacks on the enclave since Oct. 7 following a cross-border attack by Hamas.
The Israeli death toll in the Hamas attack stood at 1,200, according to official figures.
