BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) - At least nine irregular migrants died on Thursday after their boat capsized while attempting to cross the Drina River from Serbia to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In a statement, Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said that the boat sank during the night and 8 bodies had been recovered so far, while another body was found on the Bosnian side.
Dacic said that 16 of those who survived were Syrians and 2 were Egyptian citizens.
All of the survivors have been transferred to nearby hospitals.
The identification process is underway for the deceased migrants.
