AC Milan won at Genoa 1-0 thanks to Christian Pulisic's late winner in a Saturday Italian Serie A match.
The visitors' US midfielder Yunus Musah crossed from the right flank to find his compatriot, Pulisic.
Pulisic controlled the ball before sending a left-footed volley in the 87th minute to score the winning goal.
In stoppage time of the second half, AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan was shown a red card after a foul on Caleb Ekuban.
French forward Olivier Giroud became AC Milan goalkeeper as the club used their five-substitute limit during the match.
Giroud made a critical save to help AC Milan secure three points.
AC Milan are leading the Italian league with 21 points in eight matches to go two points clear of archrivals Inter Milan.
Earlier Saturday, title contenders Inter were held to a 2-2 home draw with Bologna.
