ANKARA (AA) - Adana Demirspor on Wednesday hired Italian manager Vincenzo Montella for two years, the Turkish Super Lig club said on Twitter.
Montella, 47, has coached Italy's Fiorentina, AC Milan, Sampdoria, Roma, and Spain's Sevilla.
The position was vacant after Turkish manager Samet Aybaba's departure for poor performance.
Adana Demirspor are near the Super Lig's relegation zone, having two points in three matches.
Montella led AC Milan to the Italian Super Cup victory in the 2016-17 season.
Before his retirement in 2009, Montella was a prolific forward, scoring 101 goals in 258 matches for Roma.
As a player, Montella helped Roma win the 2001 Italian Serie A title.
