The Afghanistan Embassy in Ankara urged assistance Saturday following recent floods in various regions of that country.
The embassy expressed condolences on X to families affected by a flood disaster that caused the loss of life and property in Baghlan, Ghor, Badakhshan and Herat provinces.
A statement requested cooperation from Türkiye, Turkish aid organizations and asked Afghan residents to provide humanitarian aid to those affected.
The embassy reiterated its readiness to coordinate humanitarian aid from the host country and international organizations and said it is closely monitoring the situation.
Afghanistan is facing violent floods, particularly in Baghlan, Ghor, Badakhshan, and Herat provinces which has caused concerns about increasing casualties and prompted emergency relief efforts.
Melting snow, rising temperatures, intense rainfall and inadequate infrastructure in Afghanistan led to an escalation of floods, causing significant loss of life and property annually, with hundreds of fatalities reported each year.
The death toll from the floods in Baghlan province alone has exceeded 300.
