ANKARA (AA) – Air India announced Monday that it has placed an order for 100 more Airbus aircraft, including 10 widebody and 90 narrowbody jets, further advancing its fleet renewal and global expansion plans.

This latest order increases Air India’s total Airbus orders to 350, up from 250 last year. It forms part of the airline’s broader transformation under the "Vihaan.AI" strategy, which aims to modernize its fleet and enhance global connectivity.

The airline revealed a partnership with Airbus’ Flight Hour Services-Component (FHS-C) to support its growing A350 fleet, ensuring enhanced reliability and performance through advanced engineering and component services.

Tata Sons and Air India Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran said these additional aircraft reinforce Air India’s mission to become a world-class airline connecting India globally.

Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury welcomed the move, emphasizing the partnership’s role in the airline’s transformation journey.

In 2023, Air India also placed orders for 220 aircraft with Boeing, of which 185 remain to be delivered.
