Carlos Alcaraz, the world no.3 in men's tennis, secured a place in the 2024 Roland Garros (French Open) final after defeating world no.2 Jannik Sinner on Friday.
The young Spaniard has become the youngest man to reach Grand Slam finals on three surfaces by beating the Italian with 2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 sets.
"You have to find the joy in suffering," Alcaraz said. "I think that's the key, even more on clay here in Roland-Garros, long rallies, four-hour matches, five sets, you have to fight, you have to suffer, but as I talked with my team many, many times, you have to enjoy suffering."
The 21-year-old will take on the winner of the Casper Ruud-Alexander Zverev match for his maiden French Open title in the final on Sunday.
