ALGIERS, Algeria (AA) – Algeria continued to battle dozens of forest fires in several provinces on Saturday.
In a statement, the Civil Protection Authority said its teams had managed to extinguish 37 wildfires in the northeastern Bejaia and Tizi-Ouzou provinces and a number of other provinces.
Firefighters are also struggling to bring two more wildfires in Tizi-Ouzou province under control, the statement said.
No injuries were reported in the fires.
In July, wildfires killed at least 34 people and injured 194 others in northern Algeria, according to the country’s Interior Ministry.
