GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - Mustafa Hassouna, an Anadolu Agency photojournalist in the Gaza Strip, has received his second international award this year.
Winning second place in the international ND Awards, the results of which were announced on Sunday, Hassouna said he submitted a series of pictures showing "the extent of the destruction during the recent Israeli aggression, including the killing of children, targeting of civilian towers, houses, and various facilities, and the human suffering inflicted on citizens."
The Palestinian journalist noted that his participation in the international competition was part of his efforts to raise awareness on this issue and "convey the true message and story about what is happening in the occupied territories."
On Nov. 4, Hassouna had won third place in the International Photography Awards images documenting the birthday celebration of an 11-year-old Palestinian boy with his family on the ruins of their home destroyed by Israeli warplanes.
Israel carried out 11 days of aggression against Gaza on May 10-21, resulting in the death and injury of thousands of Palestinians.
