Turkey has administered over 109.15 million coronavirus vaccine jabs since the country launched an immunization drive in January, according to official figures released Wednesday.
Some 53.76 million people have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while over 44.3 million are fully vaccinated, the Health Ministry said.
According to the data, 86.4% of Turkey’s adult population has now received at least one dose of a two-shot vaccine.
Turkey has also given third booster shots to more than 10.2 million people.
The ministry recorded 29,386 new coronavirus cases, 227 fatalities and 31,018 recoveries over the past day.
Meanwhile, Turkey’s health minister said after a meeting of the country’s COVID-19 committee that a quarter of all active cases in Turkey at the moment are in the 5-17 age group.
Peace in Syria depends on relations between Ankara and Moscow, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a summit with his Russian counterpart.
