QUNEITRA, Syria (AA) - Anadolu captured images of Israeli tanks in the southwestern Syrian city of Quneitra, which has been occupied by Israel following a surge in airstrikes after the fall of the Baath regime.
After the collapse of the Baath regime on Sunday, Israel intensified its airstrikes in Syria, pushing beyond the Golan Heights on Tuesday and seizing territories along the Lebanon-Syria line, coming within 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) of the Syrian capital, Damascus.
Footage captured by Anadolu teams on the ground shows Israeli tanks deployed in the streets of Quneitra.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Israeli military reported having carried out airstrikes on 320 "strategic targets" in Syria since the regime's fall.
The statement claimed that the targets included Syria’s air defense systems, missile depots, military aircraft, helicopters, and warships, and it asserted that more than 70% of Syria's remaining military capacity had been wiped out in these strikes.
