ANKARA (AA) – Anadolu has released its trilingual almanac on the most significant global and domestic events of 2023.

Published separately in Turkish, English, and Arabic languages, the yearbook chronologically highlights memorable events of 2023 in Türkiye and worldwide, from politics and arts to economy, sports, life, culture, science, health, and war with striking images captured by Anadolu photojournalists.

Among the national events were the devastating earthquakes that struck multiple provinces in southern Türkiye, the presidential election that was not only closely watched in Türkiye but also garnered international attention, and the grand celebrations marking the centennial of the Republic of Türkiye, which sparked nationwide enthusiasm, that shaped the agenda of the past year. As the year drew to a close, the international focus shifted towards the devastating Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Moreover, the yearbook encompasses regions globally that experienced unprecedented temperatures throughout the summer, accompanied by destructive floods and wildfires that wreaked havoc.

International developments covered in the annual report include the progress of the Russia-Ukraine war and the extension of the Black Sea grain deal, signed under the mediation of Türkiye.

The NATO membership process of Finland and Sweden, and Israel's attacks on Gaza are prominently featured, including photos documenting Israel's use of phosphorus bombs, and images depicting attacks on civilians.

Also, the yearbook features a QR code application that allows readers to access source texts and images for important news stories.
