ANKARA (AA) – The 23rd round of the War Journalism Training Program organized by Anadolu and the Turkish Police Academy will start in Türkiye's capital Ankara on Monday.
The program will run until Oct. 13 and feature a comprehensive 12-day curriculum encompassing theoretical and practical classes.
Among the participants are eight Anadolu trainees and 17 others from Türkiye's public broadcaster, TRT. Some trainees have experience reporting from war zones and high-risk areas.
Instruction in the program will be both in Turkish and English, with journalist Mete Cubukcu serving as instructor.
- 108 hours of training
Anadolu will provide support for the training, as will the Police Academy, Turkish Armed Forces, and Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
Expert academics, professional security personnel, and seasoned reporters will lead the training sessions. Participants will be exposed to simulated environments where they can encounter extraordinary situations, including gunfire with live ammunition.
The training program will encompass 26 lessons, ranging from journalism to personal safety, from war terminology to first aid, and from advanced driving techniques to water survival strategies. A total of 108 hours of training will be provided, with a substantial 62 hours dedicated to practical exercises.
Since its inception in 2012, Anadolu's War Journalism Training program has seen the participation of 488 media professionals, including 177 from foreign countries.
