Angola beat Mauritania 3-2 in a Group D match Saturday in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Midfielder Gelson Dala led his team to victory by netting twice, in the 30th and 50th minutes, at the Peace of Bouake Stadium.

The other goal for Angola was scored by midfielder Gilberto in the 53rd minute.

Mauritanian forwards Sidi Bouna Amar and Aboubakary Koita netted for the visitors in the 43rd and 58th minutes, respectively.

Angola lead Group D with four points, while Mauritania are in the 4th spot with zero points.


- Algeria draw 2-2 with Burkina Faso

Algeria drew 2-2 with Burkina Faso on Saturday in Group D of the tournament.

Algerian forward Baghdad Bounedjah netted twice, in the 51st and 95th minutes, at the Peace of Bouake Stadium.

Burkina Faso's goals were scored by Mohamed Konate in the 48th and Bertrand Traore in the 71st minute.

Burkina Faso are in second place with four points, while Algeria is in the third spot with two points.
