ISTANBUL (AA) — Annual inflation registered at 2.4% in the euro area and 2.6% in the EU in April, Eurostat revealed on Friday.
Both figures were stable compared to March figures, but fell from 7% and 8.1%, respectively, from April 2023, the 27-member bloc's statistical authority revealed.
The lowest annual national rates were seen in Lithuania (0.4%), Denmark (0.5%) and Finland (0.6%).
Meanwhile, the highest annual rates were posted by Romania (6.2%), Belgium (4.9%) and Croatia (4.7%).
"Compared with March 2024, annual inflation fell in fifteen Member States, remained stable in four and rose in eight," Eurostat noted.
It said that in April 2024, the highest contribution to the annual euro area inflation rate came from services, followed by food, alcohol and tobacco, non-energy industrial goods and energy.
