GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) – Another Israeli soldier was killed in clashes with Palestinian fighters in the Gaza Strip, the military confirmed on Sunday.
A military statement said a soldier from the 401st Brigade’s 46th Armored Battalion was killed north of the Palestinian territory.
Another soldier was seriously injured in the fighting, the statement added.
It raised the Israeli army death toll in the ongoing conflict since October 7 to over 450.
Israel has bombarded the Gaza Strip from the air and land, imposed a siege, and mounted a ground offensive in retaliation for a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
At least 18,800 Palestinians, mostly children and women, have since been killed and 51,000 injured in Israeli attacks, according to Gaza’s health authorities.
Nearly 1,200 people are believed to have been killed in the Hamas attack, while more than 130 hostages remain in captivity.
