RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – A Palestinian was killed by Israeli army fire in the occupied West Bank early Monday, according to local medics.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that a Palestinian man died in the Al-Arroub refugee camp north of Hebron city.
Israeli forces opened fire on a Palestinian car near the camp, injuring one and arresting another, eyewitnesses said.
The injured Palestinian was held by Israeli forces for several hours before he was given to medics, witnesses said. He was later pronounced dead.
Tensions have been running high across the West Bank amid an Israeli military onslaught on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
More than 215 Palestinians have since been killed and over 2,800 injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied territory, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
