RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – A Palestinian youth was killed by Israeli army fire in the West Bank on Tuesday, bringing the death toll in the occupied territory to 218 since Oct. 7, the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry said.
The young man succumbed to wounds he sustained from Israeli fire in the Balata refugee camp in the city of Nablus early Tuesday, said a ministry statement.
Israeli forces raided the camp, triggering clashes with local residents, witnesses said.
Tensions have been running high across the West Bank amid an Israeli military offensive on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
According to the ministry, at least 218 Palestinians have been killed and around 2,850 others injured by Israeli forces in the West Bank since Oct. 7.
