IDLIB, Syria (AA) – Protests continued for the second week against the Bashar al-Assad regime in the southern As-Suwayda province on Thursday, according to local sources.
Dozens of protesters gathered in the Karama Square in the province amid chants demanding Assad’s departure and condemning his practices, the sources said.
According to the sources, local residents shut their shops in a show of solidarity with the protesters.
Several Syrian cities as As-Suwayda and Daraa have seen protests in recent weeks against fuel price hikes and poor living conditions.
