ANKARA (AA) - English Premier League club Arsenal signed Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard on Friday.
"Martin Odegaard has joined us in a permanent transfer from Real Madrid," Arsenal said in a statement.
The 22-year-old rejoined Arsenal after spending the second half of the 2020-21 season on loan with the Gunners.
Real Madrid signed Odegaard in 2015 but then had loan spells with Heerenveen, Vitesse, Real Sociedad, and Arsenal.
Arsenal added that Odegaard is now waiting for the completion of formal procedures and visa requirements.
The Norwegian international will wear Arsenal's number 8 jersey.
Odegaard scored two goals and made two assists in 20 appearances for the London club last season.
