BARCELONA (AA) - An Argentinian artist has immortalized an iconic photograph taken by an Anadolu photojournalist in the Gaza Strip, by transforming it into a graffiti mural in Spain's Barcelona.

Juan Kantor, the visionary behind this project, drew inspiration from the poignant work of Anadolu’s photojournalist Ali Jadallah, depicting a Palestinian woman cradling a girl in the aftermath of Israeli airstrikes on the Ridwan neighborhood of Gaza City on Oct. 23, 2023.

The work of art, the making of which spanned 7 hours, was revealed on Wednesday in the free graffiti space at Jardines de Caterina Albert Park.

Kantor's collaboration with the organization "Unmute Gaza," an advocate for Palestinian photojournalists and ceasefire in the blockaded Strip, underscores the solidarity and support extended to the region.

Through Jadallah's lens, the enduring turmoil and devastation wrought upon Gaza since Oct. 7 are vividly portrayed, resonating with audiences worldwide.
