ISTANBUL (AA) - Qatar defeated South Korea 1-0 on Friday to advance to the semifinals in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup .
In the quarterfinal match in Abu Dhabi, Qatar's Abdelaziz Hatim scored the goal in the 78th minute.
Qatar advanced to the semifinals for the first time by beating two-time champion South Korea.
On Tuesday, Qatar will play against either defending champion Australia or host the United Arab Emirates.
On Monday, Japan and Iran will meet in the other semifinal.
The final match will be on Feb. 1.
The 2019 AFC Asian Cup is the men's football championship of Asia organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
The 17th edition of the AFC Asian Cup kicked off in the United Arab Emirates on Jan. 5.

China - Iran: 0-3
Vietnam - Japan: 0-1
Friday, Jan. 25:
Korea - Qatar: 0-1
