ANKARA (AA) – Major Asian indices closed midweek mixed amid concerns that China’s reopening could heighten global inflationary pressures.
The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, was up 0.11% to 3,253.56 points, while Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 dropped 0.41% to reach 26,340.50.
The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, climbed 1.56% to 19,898.91 points.
China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange slipped 0.26% to close at 3,087.40, while the Indian Sensex benchmark fell slightly by 0.03% to 60,910.28 points.
The Singapore index was marginally up by 0.02% to 3,266.97.
