ISTANBUL (AA) - Major Asian stock exchanges closed Tuesday mixed.
This came as fresh figures on Tuesday showed that the manufacturing industries' purchasing managers' index posted declines in China and Japan.
Recently, major central banks hiked interest rates to fight inflation, with ECB Governor Christine Lagarde saying that inflation will be at high levels for a long time.
The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, was flat at 3,647.93 points as of 1030GMT.
Tokyo's Nikkei 225 was up by 0.92% to close at 33,476.58 points.
The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong exchange, fell 0.34% to 20,011.12 points.
China's Shanghai Stock Exchange also remained unchanged at 3,290.95.
Meanwhile, India's Sensex index dropped by 0.1% to 66,459.31 points.
The Singapore index decreased by 0.01% to close at 3,373.79 points.
