BAGHDAD (AA) – At least 36 people have been killed and five others injured from a fire in a COVID-19 isolation ward at a hospital in southern Iraq, Iraqi state media reported Monday.
A fire broke out for an unknown reason at Al-Hussein Hospital in Nasiriya city in Dhi Qar governorate where COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, the official Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.
The local fire department has dispatched a team to the scene.
Earlier Monday, another fire broke out on the fourth floor of the Ministry of Health in central Baghdad.
