At least four people were killed and nine others wounded in an Israeli strike late Sunday that targeted the entrance to a hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, local media reported.

An Israeli drone fired a missile targeting the northern gate of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the city of Jabalia, said the official Palestinian news agency WAFA.

“Over 10,000 displaced people are seeking shelter at the hospital,” WAFA noted.

The ongoing intensive Israeli strikes left people unable to bury bodies that were left on the ground in front of and inside the hospital, WAFA quoted local sources as saying, adding that more than 35 corpses needed to be buried.

At least 99 bodies have been brought to Kamal Adwan Hospital since Sunday morning, WAFA said, citing the sources.

Israel continued its attacks on densely populated neighborhoods in the Gaza Strip, leaving many killed and wounded.

The Israeli army resumed bombing the Gaza Strip early Friday after declaring an end to a week-long humanitarian pause.

At least 509 Palestinians have been killed and 1,316 injured since Friday in Israeli airstrikes, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

Israel launched relentless air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.

The death toll from Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has surged to 15,523 since the start of the conflict on Oct. 7, the Health Ministry in the besieged Palestinian enclave announced Sunday.

The number of wounded through the same period has risen to 41,316.

The official Israeli death toll stands at 1,200.
