ISTANBUL (AA) - Atalanta qualified for the semifinals of the Italian Cup on Wednesday, beating Lazio 3-2 at Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.
Home team Atalanta scored an early opener as Berat Djimsiti put the ball into Lazio’s net.
In the 18th minute, ex-Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi scored the equalizer for Lazio.
Lazio took a 2-1 lead in the 35th minute courtesy of Francesco Acerbi.
But two minutes later, Atalanta's Ruslan Malinovskiy leveled the game.
The first half ended 2-2.
In the 57th minute, Russian midfielder Aleksey Miranchuk scored the winning goal for Atalanta.
Meanwhile, Atalanta's Jose Luis Palomino was sent off in the second half.
Additionally, Atalanta's Colombian striker Duvan Zapata missed a penalty kick in the 67th minute.
Atalanta will face Napoli or Spezia in the next round, the Italian Cup semifinals.
