Italian Serie A club Atalanta missed a chance to beat English Premier League club Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League as the match ended with a goalless draw on Thursday.
Atalanta got a chance to win as a penalty shot was called by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in the 50th minute at Stadio di Bergamo.
But Italian forward Mateo Retegui missed the opportunity to score the winning goal as Arsenal's Spanish goalie David Raya saved his shot from the penalty kick in the 51st minute.
In a fairly balanced encounter, both sides failed to score and settled for a goalless draw in the end.
Following the results, German side Bayern Munich top the league phase standings with a goal difference, in front of Scotland’s Celtic and Germany's Bayer Leverkusen respectively, all with three points each.
