Spanish La Liga club Atletico Madrid announced Thursday that they have renewed their contract with manager Diego Simeone.
The Argentine coach will stay with the team until June 30, 2027, according to a statement.
The 53-year-old, who joined Atletico in December 2011, has led his team to two Spanish La Liga titles (2014, 2021), one Copa del Rey trophy (2013) and two UEFA Europa League trophies (2012, 2018) along with two UEFA Champions League finals (2014, 2016).
Atletico have lost only 18% of the 642 matches they have played with Simone at the helm.
Simone also holds the record for coaching the same team for the most consecutive seasons in La Liga.
