ISTANBUL (AA) - Australia, the Dominican Republic and Italy have qualified for the second round of the FIBA 2023 Basketball World Cup.
The trio joined already-qualified Canada, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Spain, and the US for a total of 10 teams who have moved to the 16-team next stage of the competition.
A total of 10 nations have been eliminated from the tournament, including Angola, France, Finland, Japan, Lebanon, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Mexico, and the Philippines.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the quarterfinals.
The final will be held at Manila's Mall of Asia Arena on Sep. 10.

Angola - Dominican Republic: 67-75
Philippines - Italy: 83-90
Group D:
Egypt - Mexico: 100-72
Montenegro - Lithuania: 71-91
Group E:
Germany - Finland: 101-75
