ISTANBUL (AA) – Australia’s unemployment rate remained at 4% in June, according to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics released on Thursday.
The number of unemployed people reached 605,100 in June, up 0.8% month-on-month and 14.8% year-on-year, the data revealed.
Meanwhile, the participation and the underemployment rates remained unchanged at 66.8% and 6.5%, respectively.
In June, the monthly hours worked soared to over 1.9 billion, up 1.3% on an annual basis, the data showed.
Full-time employment increased 43,300 and part-time employment 6,800 in the same period.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was at 4.1%, up 0.1% in June.
