ANKARA (AA) – Local authorities have confirmed the deaths of at least 38 people after a flash flood collapsed a highway bridge in northwest China's Shaanxi Province two weeks ago, while 24 people remain missing, state-run media said on Friday.
So far, 25 vehicles have been confirmed to have plunged into the Jinqian River in Zhashui County, near Shangluo, on July 19, Xinhua News reported.
Rescue operations are still underway in the area, with approximately 3,400 members from ministries, armed forces, and fire departments utilizing boats, drones, detectors, and underwater robots to locate the missing individuals.
The rescue team has so far rescued one person.
