BAKU (AA) - Azerbaijani lawmaker Ganira Pashayeva, who was hospitalized Sept. 24 in capital Baku with a hypotonic condition of an unknown origin, died Thursday. She was 48.
Pashayeva was born March 24, 1975, in Tovuz.
She graduated from the Department of Pediatrics of Azerbaijan Medical University and the Department of International Law of Baku State University, and began her career in the media in 1998.
Pashayeva later became the head of the public relations department at the Heydar Aliyev Fund in 2005.
Shortly afterward, she was elected deputy from Tovuz in parliamentary elections on Nov. 6, 2005, and served in different positions in parliament.
Pashayeva was most recently the head of the Cultural Commission of the National Assembly.
