ANKARA (AA) – Bahamian sprinter Steven Gardiner took an Olympic gold in Tokyo 2020 men's 400-meter race on Thursday.
Gardiner, 25, ran the 400-meter final in 43.85 seconds to claim the gold medal.
Colombian athlete Anthony Jose Zambrano was awarded with silver for completing the race in 44.08.
Kirani James of Grenada took bronze with 44.19. He was the gold medalist in London 2012.
The Games will run through Aug. 8.
