LAGOS, Nigeria (AA) - Police in Nigeria on Tuesday said at least 15 villagers were killed in an attack by armed bandits in the country’s northwestern Katsina state.
Gambo Isah, police spokesman in the state, said the bandits numbering about 200 invaded the Yar Gamji village on Monday.
Speaking to reporters, Isah said the armed men riding motorbikes opened fire in the village, leaving 15 people dead and many others injured.
He said an operation has been launched to hunt down the bandits.
